Desiderii Marginis - That Which is Tragic and Timeless

Gosh, I love stuff like this!  The Cold Meat label seems to be divided into two different artists...those which are talented musicians and creative minds, but who are so obsessed with that which is obscene or explicit to most ordinary people that it takes away from the seriousness of the music they are composing.  And then there are those artists who craft music is such a way as to totally take you to an unseen and unheard of level of greatness in music (without being unnecessarily offensive).  Desiderii Marginis, on this remarkable album, takes you to such a level.  This is haunting, dark ambient at it's near greatest.  This is right up there with artists who take this genre to new heights with every subsequent Raison d'Ítre or Atrium Carceri.  Artists who's music goes far beyond the boundaries that label it as simply "dark ambient".

With That Which is Tragic and Timeless, Desiderii Marginis fills your mind and your thoughts with eerie atmospheres filled and soothing sounds and passages that will slowly pick you up and carry you off to other worlds before you know you've left your current reality.  Never in a hurry to rush to the next idea, but never a dull moment to make you desire to leave its grip.  This is essential for the dark ambient fan.  Fabulously beautiful and striking effort!
