Medusa's Spell - Mercurial Behavior

Gosh, you gotta love stuff like this!  Medusa's Spell release their first album on Cold Meat Industry, and they are sure to become a label favorite.  This stuff is mega dark, eerie, demented, and just plain captivating.  The tranquil and soothing atmosphere seems to lull you into their enthralling world of music.  And speaking of music, this is some sweet stuff!  Just one listen to Act III and you'll be hooked.  The chaotic piano, the industrial elements, the soft acoustic guitar...you just can't help but come away amazed with this band's goodness.  And while the big majority of the album is instrumental with the piano, acoustic guitars, bells, keyboards, etc., the songs that have vocals are just as good.  The twisted vocals, whether cleanly sung or with harsher, industrialized effects, or whispered, are haunting to say the least.  They also use sampled type vocals of screams and sinister laughter among others.

Lyrically, this album is a concept album.  Cold Meat describes it as each "Act" being the confused thoughts and visions of a murderer. Needless to say, that contributes to the dark feeling the album has.  And as is the customary CMI way, the artwork is terrific and the production is stellar.

If you are a fan of Cold Meat Industry bands, this is definitely one that I wouldn't hesitate to check out.
