Dying - Valley of Thorns

Ok, I really, really, REALLY hate it when people say stuff like, "This album SUCKS!", and then they don't tell you why.  So, I won't do that to you guys.

THIS ALBUM SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  And you wanna know why?  It's slow.  I know it's "doom metal", but when it's this bad you don't want it to go slow.  Ok, ummm...it's boring.  This is only 4 songs and 17 minutes and it feels like I've just listen to an 80 minute CD by time this ends.  Alrighty...the vocals are horrendous!  It's got this whispered, half-sung, grating nails on a chalkboard vibe going on.  And most of the time it sounds like the dude is in some deep hole.  Let's see...ummm...the production is pretty nasty.  Yeah, I know this is an independent release, but it still stinks.  And the music...my gosh!  I'd rather hear my 3 year old pound on pots and pans on the kitchen floor.

Ok, seriously...I could go on and on, but I have many other reviews to write and this is a waste of my time.  This one-man band doesn't do ANYTHING for me at all.  Yes, the lyrics are bold for his faith in Christ.  Nothing wrong with that.  But when you combine the best news in the world with some of the worst music, the final result will be that no one will even hear the good news cause they can't get through one song without screaming in agony and hitting the stop button.  Which is what I'm doing right now cause this is scaring my wife and kids.
