All My Faith Lost - As You're Vanishing in Silence

One thing is certain, if the album you have has the CMI logo on it, you're almost certain to get a quality release...regardless of style. All My Faith Lost is a new band to the label and this debut album, As You're Vanishing in Silence is a beautiful and passionate work of art that even gets this headbanger's attention. The group is comprised of three members, but only two...Viola and Federico are the main focus in pictures in the CD booklet and the only ones with the claim to fame in the bio that CMI sent along.

The music here is VERY calm and relaxing....kind of a dark-acoustic/ambient/ethereal feeling. No loud crashing drums or screaming electric guitars. What you have here is acoustic guitars, violins, flutes, piano, and synth, along with the beautiful yet whispered vocals of Viola and Federico. It's easy to get caught up in the dreamy soundscape they have created and forget the cares around you. However, it's also easy to get a tad sleepy and wake up some time later having missed a few songs. This music is definitely good for those cold, rainy mornings after you've decided to sleep in instead of getting up and going to work. It's also good for lulling you to sleep after a frantic, long day. Hmmm...seems I'm mentioning sleep a lot in this review. Maybe I'll just doze....off...for a few...minutes....zzzzzzzzzzz.....

Whoa, okay! Where am I...oh yeah, I was writing a review of this gorgeous album. All funny stuff aside, As You're Vanishing in Silence is a solid album that is very well done with music that will envelop you and caress your soul with it's soft, yet skillful instrumentation and soothing, yet intense atmosphere. While things can get a little repetitious at times, it's beautifully repetitious.

As for the rest of the package...the artwork is nicely done and the first 1000 copies come in a digipak. Lyrically, the topics seem to be focused around love and the sadness that sometimes comes with love....or that's what I'm getting. Sometimes the lyrics are so softly whispered that I can't really make out what they are saying. Some of them seem to be in something other than English...I'm guessing Italian since the band used to be on a small Italian label.

Overall, a successful debut and a group to keep you eyes on.
